In a
previous post I wrote about my search for a home firewall that offered similar features to what I am used to at work. I have since found the
Endian Firewall.
The Endian Firewall comes in two flavors. The first is a
commercial version that comes pre-installed on hardware and includes support. The second is a free
community version of the firewall that can be downloaded and installed on a PC.
Both versions offer a wide array of features. The complete list can be viewed on their website, but a few of the features include gateway anti-virus, gateway anti-spam, web content filtering, QoS, and IDS.
So you can build yourself a home firewall with features comparable to your corporate firewall for free by downloading the community version of Endian Firewall and installing it on an old PC. Check it out.
